When we were assigned this project we were told to go on the "Art Of Apex Portal" and find any type of inspiration for our piece. When we did the mini lesson of watercolor I didn't feel like I got much experience with it so I wanted to try it again for this piece. I wasn't inspired by just one thing on the portal because I ended up using colored pencils, salt, watercolor, and acrylic paint in my piece. This piece is similar to the inspiration that I got from the portal because I used different techniques with each of the mediums and I made it my own by using many different mediums and testing how they worked together in my final piece. I found that using many different mediums and techniques made my piece unique, but in a future piece I may try blending the colors more or trying different mediums. http://artofapexportal.weebly.com/For the pick two blog post I decided to do my clay pig and my stencil. We were assigned to make a clay fish but I thought I would be able to put more details and hard work into an animal which I really enjoy, which is why I made a clay pig. With making the clay pig it was hard to align all four legs to be equal, so to fix this I put a piece of paper under the body and aligned the legs by using the piece of paper, because the paper will burn away at the end. To make this clay animal, I first decided which animal I wanted to create, then I molded the clay into the animal, fired it, and then covered it with glaze. For the stencil piece I decided to do a fish because I felt like the scales would have came out cool through the spray paint. It was very difficult to cut out each scale so to overcome it I just made smaller shapes to cut out inside the scales. To make this stencil I traced the picture, cut out all interior lines, and then spray painted it.
Impressionism is a 19th-century art movement that originated with a group of Paris-based artists whose independent exhibitions brought them to prominence during the 1870s and 1880s. Impressionism is different from other movements because it uses many brush strokes in an array of colors and focuses on a contemporary subject. Mike Wazowski From Monsters Inc.When I was assigned this project we were told to look on Pinterest for inspiration for our piece. I found many examples of morphing animals in non-living objects, but one stood out to me. I saw a circus scene with a man on a unicycle with a girl on top of him with her dress acting like the wheel on the unicycle. Using that piece I decided to make a ballerina with her tutu or dress being the top of an umbrella. I really enjoyed putting this piece on a canvas because I think it makes the art look better than if it was on paper. In a future piece I may try a different medium and also I would find another place to put the raindrops since umbrellas are supposed to protect people from the rain. Overall I really enjoyed putting this piece together, by looking for inspiration at the beginning of the project really helped pull my ideas together in the final project. These pictures are taken in different perspectives. The first picture is shown with it looking like I am inside the bracelet, when its just the angle that makes it look it. In the second picture it looks like Logan is holding up the ceiling because he is standing in front of the ledge. In the third picture it looks like Lauren and I are holding up or holding up the football goal. These perspectives make the pictures look like optical illusions. We had some difficulties figuring out the angles to take the pictures at but we just kept lining up the object with the camera until we got it.
On the first day of school we were handed a piece of paper and a lollipop. We were told to draw the lollipop but we had to use the whole piece of paper. I decided to draw three big lollipops with the main description of the wrapper, and then smaller ones to fill the page.
http://www.cerio.it/ In Stefano Cerio's series “Chinese Fun,” he explores the facades of amusement without an audience’s reaction. He took these pictures from the amusement park either in the off season or after hours, when no one would be around. The images were taken in the four cities of Beijing, Shanghai, Qingdao, and Hong Kong, and he would mainly focus on water parks or amusement parks. Cerio's work inspires me to see the bigger picture in things you wouldn't mainly notice, he took these pictures when he knew no one would be around and they showed how beautiful and peaceful these places can be. I absolutely love water and amusement parks and this shows how different it is without the noise and the surroundings of how we would normally view the place. “Exploring the boundary line between vision, recounting the real and the spectator’s horizon of expectation, [and] the staging of a possible reality that might not be true but is at least plausible.” |
